Science Immunology

The Library has subscribed to the new e-journal Science Immunology.

Science Immunology will publish original, peer-reviewed, science-based research articles that report critical advances in all areas of immunological research, including important new tools and techniques. Areas covered range from basic studies into the biology of innate and adaptive immunity (immune cell development and differentiation, immunogenomics, systems immunology, structural immunology, antigen presentation, immunometabolism, and mucosal immunology) to immune contributions to health and disease (host defense, inflammation, cancer immunology, autoimmunity, allergy, transplantation, and immunodeficiency).

Closing of the Medical Library on 24 April

Henry Stewart Talks: Biomedical & Life Science Collection

The Library has subscribed to the new online biomedical multimedia resource Henry Stewart Talks. Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection. This database contains  over  2,100  specially  prepared,  animated,  seminar-style, online   lectures   by   world   leading   authorities  for  universities,  research  centres, medical  schools  and  pharmaceutical/biotech companies, including Nobel, Breakthrough and Lasker Prize winners.

The Library's subscription to AccessMedicine now includes the new HemOnc Collection. 

Updated regularly, this comprehensive online HemOnc resource covers the entire spectrum of hematology-oncology from the basics to specialty-specific content. The HemOnc Collection provides online edition of the world’s leading hematology-oncology references, including Williams Hematology, Hematology-Oncology Therapy, and The MD Anderson Manual of Oncology. Each text is featured in its most current edition, and all references are fully searchable.

Nature Microbiology

The Library has subscribed to the new journal Nature Microbiology. 
 
This new Nature journal is concerned with all aspects of microorganisms be it their evolution, physiology and cell biology, their interactions with each other, with a host, with an environment, or their societal significance.

Publishing monthly, the journal is committed to publishing primary research into infectious disease and pathogenesis, antimicrobials, symbiosis, microbiomes, ecology, cell biology and physiology. It will also address areas where microorganisms impact on society and vice versa.

CUHK Professor Dennis Lo received Future Science Prize

Prof. Dennis Lo, Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine was awarded the first-ever Future Science Prize-Life Science Prize for his seminal contribution to the widely-used non-invasive prenatal test based on the original discovery of fetal DNA in maternal blood which has benefited millions of pregnant women globally.
