Research Guides and Mobile Apps & Sites
The Li Ping Medical Library has uploaded new Research Guides
and list of Mobile Apps & Sites on its website.
The Research Guides include major databases, e-books, e-journals,
multimedia materials etc. on different specialties to assist your biomedical research.
The Mobile Apps & Sites contain a list of mobile applications and optimized
websites that provide you handy access to update medical information with your
smartphones or tablets.

Library Workshops on Nursing & Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews Databases
The Li Ping
Medical Library has arranged with Wolters Kluwer to provide training sessions
on Ovid medical and healthcare databases in March 2015.
The
Nursing databases which include Joanna Briggs Institute EBP Database, Maternity
and Infant Care, Ovid Nursing Database, etc. provides a rich source of
full-text journal articles, e-books and practice guidelines on Nursing. In this
workshop, you will learn the essential skills for effectively searching
materials of evidence-based practice of Nursing.

This workshop will focus on the techniques for searching the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Central Register of Controlled Trials, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, etc.

Agency, the British Pharmacopoeia collects quality standards for UK medicinal
products and pharmaceutical substances. It is widely consulted by professionals
involved in pharmaceutical research, manufacturing and testing around the
globe.
This online version provides full text access
to the latest 2015 edition which includes over 3,000 monographs.
Thieme clinical collections contain an extensive assortment of clinical medicine e-books carefully selected to provide users with thorough coverage of all major medical fields. Full-color illustrations, clinical photographs and high resolution radiographs are provided throughout the books.

RefWorks with Focus on Health Sciences Databases
The Medical Library will organise a workshop on RefWorks with Focus on Health Sciences
Databases.
RefWorks is a web-based citation management tool which allows
you to create your own personal database by importing references from online
databases or text files. You can use these references in writing research papers
and RefWorks can help to automatically format the paper and the bibliography in
seconds.
This
workshop will cover both the basic and the advanced functions of RefWorks, with
a focus on importing references from PubMed and other health science databases
like MEDLINE and CINAHL. You will also learn how to create in-text citations and
bibliography of different citation styles (APA, AMA, etc.) in your Word
documents.
