Highly Cited Researchers 2019

Five professors of the Faculty of Medicine are named Highly Cited Researchers 2019 by Web of Science. They are among the world’s top researchers who published multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for their respective fields in Web of Science. Congratulations to:

Discontinuation of Vending Machine

The vending machine services in the Medical Library's leisure reading area would be discontinued with effective from 5 October 2019, due to the low usage and high maintenance cost.

Journal Citation Reports 2019

The 2019 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) edition is now available, based on 2018 data. It has expanded its coverage to 11,877 journals, including 283 titles new to the JCR – 108 of them fully Open Access.

Reflecting new areas of research concentration, the JCR has added three new subject categories: Quantum Science & Technology, Development Studies, and Regional & Urban Planning.

New Alumni Password Policy

Please be informed that the University has introduced a new arrangement to protect your CUHK alumni account. 

According to University's password policy, CUHK alumni are required to have a one-off change of password if you have not changed your password after 31 January 2019. Please follow the instructions here.

Library Survey 2019

As part of our continuous effort to improve services, the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library is conducting a Survey from March 11 to 29, 2019.  Your response will help us to improve resources and services for you.

New Cochrane Interactive Learning Module

A new module on network meta-analysis (NMA)has been added to the Cochrane Interactive Learning.

This module will give you an introduction to NMA in the context of a systematic review of randomized trials. This module will teach you to:

• Decide when it is (not) appropriate to do an NMA
• Understand assumptions required for NMA
• Plan an analytical strategy to address a particular question by an NMA
• Understand the results of an NMA
• Assess the confidence in results from an NMA

Library Opening Hours during the Lunar New Year Holidays

The Medical Library will open 24/7 during the Lunar New Year holidays while the book stacks and staffed service hours are as follows:

4 February 2019        9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

5-7 February 2019    No services

8 February 2019       9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

9 February 2019       9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
